Statement

FAO/OIE/WHO

The viruses have some genetic markers to suggest human infection is possible; they can replicate in human airway cells, and viruses can be spread via respiratory droplets passed between ferrets.”, says Keith Sumption, Chief Veterinary Officer and the FAO.
